About

Did you know that bunny hopping in the rear feet while running is a common sign of hip dysplasia in dogs? Did you know that the surface that your puppy is born on can impact how good their hips are as adults? Did you know that it's not just your puppies parents hip scores, that determine how good your puppy's hips will be? Did you know that dogs with Hip Dysplasia are not only allowed to do exercise, but the right kind of exercise can improve their functional ability to use their hips and reduce the speed of deterioration of their hips? This workshop is going to be taking a look at the canine hip joint - a little biology, a little bit about common issues, and then a lot about keeping hips strong, mobile, and functioning well. We will cover: - The biology of the hips - The main function of the hips - How we can test different aspects of the hips - Common conditions involving hips - Factors that can impact hip joint development - Exercises to improve functional hips including strengthening, stability, and hip mobility This workshop is appropriate for any person that want's to learn more about canine hips. Dogs participating in this workshop can include: - Young dogs wanting to maintain function, and protect the hips - Older dogs that want to maintain functional rear end strengths - Dogs with mild to moderate hip dysplasia (with vet approval for fitness exercises) - Dogs with mild to moderate osteoarthritis of the hips (with vet approval for fitness exercises) If you are unsure about if this workshop is appropriate for your dog, please reach out to Kelly to discuss this.
